I have a challenge that I think might be fun!I was just reading Paperclippings, which is a fun blog I came upon by Meredith. There was an entry about using "found items" ~ which really took me back to thinking about scrapbooking as a child. My Mom bought me a big 12 x 12 journal basically and said to use it as a scrapbook. What I would do was cut out pictures in magazines and glue them into it. Pictures of toys I wanted, or pictures of eyes, with eyeshadow colors that I liked. I would rip pictures out of some of my books that I liked and I would write on the pages. This is what scrapbooking was to me as a kid. I didn't have rubons, ribbon, chipboard and all of that other fun stuff that we use today.  Offline #2 2007-10-26 23:41:48

I love this idea - I remember looking at my mom's scrapbooks that were like this too! I loved them because it really showed what was popular when she was growing up and how the brands have changed over the years. Re: I have a challenge that I think might be fun!I am in definitely. I still have the album I did in Highschool that now looking back is my first ever scrapbook I kept up with. It has a bunch of pictures of my highschool year and crazy clippings, letters from friends, ex-boyfriends letters,flowers and school stuff and my own drawings. It is one of my goals to take apart and put in a acid free album so that the pictures dont get messed up. I guess I have been scrapbooking since I was young just didnt know that's what its called. I will take a picture of it and you guys will laugh but oh well its for real. But I will do a new one just for this challenge. Are we all committing to non scrapbook materials or what? Oh and let's check in every few days to share photos. I'll post something in the next few days. This idea just came to me, so I need some time to gather some stuff.
